Hi fellows,

I went riding today (and BTW lost my pipe bolts) and noticed that the rear brake disc and sprocket were loose in rotation way...I mean I can turn them a little whereas the axle doesn't...
What's the deal?
Can anyone tell me what to fix?
BTW, the big nuts on the axle seem to be tight.

Thanks.

I believe that all Banshee's are like that because the hubs "float" on the splines. Mine do and I have never had a problem.

Do you mean that your disc and sprocket rotate like 5 degrees while the axle doesn't?
Strange.
I forgot to mention that I have a very fast "clac clac" under full aceeleration. Sprockets are new, and chain tension is good...wouldn't the loose sprocket and clacclac be linked?

hi zorro

ther should be no play ( floatation) on the brake disc or the sprocket.
if the axle nuts are properly tightend and you still have play on the sprocket and brake disc the splines ere worn on either the axle and /or the sprocket & brake disc holders.

there should not be any play at the sprocket or brake disk. The two large nuts squeeze the bearings, sprocket, disk brake together,,,somtimes they come loose a little bit.The nut on the wheel side is the lock nut,,it must be loosend first,,then you can tighten the other one,,you should have someone hold the rear brake.I use a very large adjustable wrench.A small amount of silicone on the threads between the two nuts will help keep them tight.

You guys were right.
The big nuts weren't tight enough. I finally found a wrench that fits, I tightened them, and no more loose.
Thanks.

The large nuts should be checked pretty regular.Did you notice if your axle had some play before you tightened it? They keep the axle bearings tight..I noticed mine come loose when i race hard on circle tracks. 86 250r 2001 b/w raptor
