Just when in the water then fine or in the water and from then on?

If just when in the water check the spark plug cap for a tight fit/cracks, etc.

If in the water and then from that point on check the carb for water/mud. I pulled a ton of mud from my uncle's Kodiak 450 carb a couple weeks ago. He went in the water, it died, would not rev. All the mud added up to about the size of a piece of chewed gum. The main was clogged solid. All this in water just to the top of the tires (splashed up).

go and get some 100% silicone from the hardware and put a bead of it around your plug cap....it will completely seal off the plug to water....when water enters the plug housing and hit's the plug it shorts it out and it sputters....did this to my Grizz and it fixed it

Id put dielectric grease on the spark plug cap instead of the silcone...it makes it much easier the next time the plug needs changing, and is just as water proof.

Check over the two plugs on the front differential, if they get water in them and short out, the rev limiter will come on. Take them apart, and if they are wet, dry them out, and then pack them with the same dielectric grease and reassemble them.

ok this is the way it happens. I first went through some deep creek water maybe to the top of my tires. really did not have a probelm maybe a little sputtering at the end but was ok after i ran about 15 ft out of the water. then next time was soupy muddly water maybe top of the tire deep. the hole was about 15 yards long. half way in it i noticed some muddy water was splashing up in the front. it started missing and wanted to stall out. i made it through it but it took about 3 minutes for it to start running right. it wanted to start, stall, cut out . i would rev it up and it would miss and carry on . thanks for your help.
