Bear Tracker won't idle

Pulled my wifes Bear Tracker out to go for a ride, while it started up fine, now it will not idle. High end seems OK. Tried re-adjusting the carb but no luck. Took off carb and cleaned it out, put all back together and still won't idle. Have manual, but idle speed and pilot adj screw appear to be shown opposite in manual. Are rebuild kits availiable ? This is a 2002 model, have never had a minutes trouble until now. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance !!

how long had it sat? maybe a little piece of varnish stuck somewhere.

Go easy on making adjustments with the two screws. A little turn goes a long way.

Will it idle with the choke on? If so, then the pilot jet is still plugged up.
No need for a rebuild kit, just make sure the pilot jet is clean. Look down the jet, like it was a straw...and you should be able to see thru the very tiny hole, sometimes it takes a small wire to dislodge the obstuction, but if it wont come clean, just get a new one...they are about 5 bucks.

Thanks for the suggestions, but in my case it is extremely rich, if you pull the choke out it fouls immediately. It ran perfect 6 weeks ago, we put it away then two weeks later it will start but only will keep running if you hold the throtle open. It is sort of like the choke won't go off. Already checked the dealer, no rebuild kits availiable. Each carb part is seperate and wow are they expensive, float needle and seat is 25 bucks. In the manual they talk about a coaster diaframe, has anyone had any experience with these ? They ciost 35 bucks for a littl rubber gasket. I don't mind spending the bucks if it will fix it, but keep chasing it is getting time consuming and expensive.
All sugestions are greatly appreciated.....

If you think its too rich, then try removing the air filter and the air box lid, temporarily, and this will very definetly lean it out. If it starts then...your choke probably is the problem, or the floats are too high.
Its possible the choke is on full time, but then there wouldnt be any difference to the motor when you pull it on and off.

If you go here, and look at the diagram, the mixture screw is the #9. How far out is it, from being lightly seated? Should be somewhere around 1 1/2 turns out.

"It ran perfect 6 weeks ago, we put it away then two weeks later it will start but only will keep running if you hold the throtle open." Boy...that sure sounds like a plugged pilot jet to me. Make sure , if you pull the carb apart again, to look closly at that jet, and make sure its not plugged . this is a very common issue, on all quads, because the inside center hole of the pilot jet is so tiny, its always the first passageway in the carb to plug.

You might want to try a new spark plug at this point too. The one thats in there, may be too glazed or fouled to spark very well.

Many thanks for the info, I have some new carb gaskets and a new float needle and seat ordered, when they arrive I will pull the pilot jet out and clean all the passages. It already fouled out the first plug so it has a new one waiting for the next go round. It always starts but fouls quickly if the throtle is not kept up. My thought is a clog also because it happened so suddenly but wanted to make sure their were no ongoing problems with this machine. Thanks again to all who responded.
