Default just stripped the oil cooler drain plug on my raptor 660

anyone ever strip the oil cooler resevoir drain bolt, i got some bad luck, the bolt is ok/ however the hole the bolt screw into is striped half way down the hole, how could i fix this problem within two days for hunting season

please help

try to case the threads with a thread chase if its not alluminum.. i really dont know if it is =.. or just apply thread locker and ram the thing in there.. thats what i woould do.. but its propaply not the right thing

it's aluminum, i will try anything at this point im disgusted with my self righty tighty lefty lucy, i don't know why i went the wrong way i was in a hurry and getting ready to go to work

You might try taking the drain plug to a napa store and see if they might have a self tapping bolt, next size up, that would work.

You will need a new crush gasket also.


Engine oil tank drain bolt is only 18 ft-lb

You will need to install helicoils or some similar hardware. Availabe at my Napa around the corner and most other places that sell high quality hardware.

it didn't transmit threw the net that's okay though i appreciate the help i will look it up on google
