Honestly, I don't know why anyone would buy/use one. Its just another filter you have to clean and I seriously doubt it would be worth what little power that can be gained from it. Not to mention how would you jet for something like that. I mean its not going to flow like not having a lid but might flow a little more (a little) than having a lid. I've had 3 quads with no lid and used a K&N filter with an outerwares cover and never had a problem. I ride in dust, mud, and sand and I don't clean it after every ride. The only thing about not having a lid is when you go though a deep water hole, sometimes you have to stop and remove the tit at the bottom of the air box to drain water........but its never been bad enough to even begin to be a problem.............just my .02

I just can't bring myself to run without a lid, rebuilds are to expensive. Somewhere they also sell lids with Outerware material only instead of the K&N gauze material. They are cheaper too, I just don't remember where I saw them. Personally I am just running UNI vents in my lid, you can always tape them off in the nasty stuff.

Make your own out of a pre filter material......what i did on my ds650 was cut a nice section out of the airbox lid then took a outerwear and cut it into a nice square section made a big flange to squish the outerwear material to the lid and then also glued it in place along with a couple small bolts .....looks just like the outerwear lids that you buy but it only cost me....nothing...and it flows almost as good as having it off while water doesnt go through the material easy at all.

I just got the powerlid and wow,all I can say is I LOVE IT! ...It gives the motor a big roar and it breaths way more then the stocker! The power was amazing, its like if the motor was stronger everywere.

I just wanted to share my opinion and I would highly recommend it because its worth it.I'm really glad I have it. If you have any other question, just ask me

Joel
