Man guys, I don't know what I did, but I was just out in my garage trying to pull my Raptor out(by hand). I pulled sideways on it and I felt a "POP"/"CRICK" in lower right part of my back. Darn it hurt!! I think I pulled a muscle or something. I'm only 15!! I thought this stuff only happened to old people. I hate this. I tried to go riding but that hurt like heck, so I came in and am now writing this. That makes me mad. I wanted to ride!!!

You think you have it bad, check out what happened to me. I was racing motocross or gravelcross as we call it at IOK gravelrama. I raced my raptor in the open 4-stroke against 13 400ex's and 1 other Raptor. I was side by side to my buddies TC built 400ex coming into the first turn, when I accidentally shifted down into neutal instad of 2nd. I was in 4th place up the big hill and was doing pretty good, I knew this track pretty well and this was the 4th time I had raced here. When we hit theobstacle corse which is filled with sharp turns, sweeper turns jumps, and dropoffs. I was still in 4th but closing in. I jumped off of a drop off andwas a little sideways when I hit my foot fell off the peg and hit the ground, just that quick the reaer tire ran over my leg and the quad rolled. I felt a pain in my leg and looked downto see my whole foot was at a 90 degree angle sideways to my leg. I climbed up on the bank so I wouldn't get hit and my ankle and foot fell back into place. Needless to say the paramedics cut my new riding boots and pants off. Well 2 hospital visits and 1 surgery later I am doing pretty good. I have a screw ran through my ankle bones into my leg bones to hold everything togeather while it heals. I ended up breaking my tibia and dis-locating my ankle. But hopefully in 6-8 weeks I will be as good as new and ready to ride. All have to say is be careful I consider myself a pretty good rider but accidents can always happen.

Dang Shollz! I'm sorry to hear about that.... It's a wake up call for safety to the rest of us.

Why didn't you just drive it out?

I too have been ‘Bit by the Raptor’. I was doing a blind ‘S’ hill climb behind a few other quads in Western PA (Hillsville – old strip mine). Nothing major until someone decided to stop over the crest of the hill. I was left hanging 2 feet from the top. I laid on the brakes and proceeded to slide back down the hill. I made it about half way down and then struck the side of the trail and rolled. I tried to jump clear but I wasn’t quick enough. When it was all said and done I had slightly bent handle bars and a broken arm. I find out tomorrow if I have to get a screw in my arm. I’m out for at least 6 weeks. I have to say though I’m pretty proud of my first broken bone. I almost made it to 30 yrs. without an incident.
I got a blue cast to match my raptor….. sweet!!! Ride fast, take lots of chances, and keep your lid on! |
sorry to hear it dude. same thing happened to me. if it doesn't get better in a while maybe try a chiropractor. that is the only thing that helped my back although it still hurts sometime.
