lil prob with 660 lil help/advice please
I am in the market for a 2003 660r raptor. not in too bad of shape but i was wandering if anyone could help me out with a little prob.
First off im looking at the quad because i might get it for around 2900 or 3000. Which seems like a good deal, but the only prob tht i have with this purchase is tht there is something wrong with the clucth or something to tell you the truth i really dont know? But what happens is as soon as you downshift out of 1st gear it automatically goes into reverse. How can this problem be solved and how much would it cost to repair? The kid told me it was a minor problem and it only requires a 30$ part to fix it. well he didnt seem too sure so i thought id just get a few more opinions
anything would help, thanks.
Also weres a good place to get parts online?

LOL It might be a $30 part but hours of labor to put it in if you need to go inside the tranny.
There's a **** on the right fender attached to a cable going to a arm near the shifter. Any of those could be bad or it might just need to be adjusted. Check the end of the cable and the arm down by the shifter and see if the arm moves and that the cable is in the bracket. It's probably not a big deal but would check those things first and even disconnect the cable to see if it keeps you from being able to go into reverse. If it locks you out of reverse with the cable disconnected the problem is not inside the tranny.
