06 raptor 700 baffle question

Well I just bought a 06 raptor 700r on Saturday and rode all day Sunday and loving it but my question is if I remove the baffle and airbox lid is there any other modding needed there to keep it running correctly like in the efi?
And if i remove the airbox lid do i need to keep more oil on the air filter? Thanks for your help in.

yes any mod you do to the 700 requires adjustment to the ecu It can be done with a controller like dobeck. The factory ecu will not compinsate for modds so if you do it you will lose more than you gain if you dont use a controller

what about on a 660? if i remove the airbox, do i need to do the same?

no the 660 is carbed not injected you will need to adjust the needle ring clip up on both carbs if all you are doing is a lid and baffle but if you do more than that you will need a jet kit to compinsate

yeah i know its carbed, where is the needle ring clip on the carb though? and do i need some sort of over on my air filter or can i just clean it after every ride? also, does it matter that ive got a yoshi exhaust and headers

the ring clip is on the end of the throttle cable it is what allows the fuel go through the main jet just get to the carbs and remove the top plate should be 3-5 screws pill the piston slide up and out the main needle will be attached to the bottom move the c clip down 1 position on both carbs. put back together and your done. as far as a yoshi full pipe get a jet kit it will make a world of difference and eliminate all the poping I am sure you have.
Ps. do the jet kit soon if not you could cause damage to the motor if it is not done if you run to lean you go fast but chance burnig a hole in the piston, to rich and you faul plugs

thanks man! what jet kit would you recommend and is a jet kit just a replacement of the stock jets in the carbs?

06 raptor 700 baffle question

yes you just pull out the stock jets and replace with new 1's. I would go with the dyno jet kit it comes with a variaty of jets and you just use the right jet for what you have done to your bike it comes with paperwork to tell you what jet to use with what modd and as you do more you have the jet for what you need
