1999 Yamaha Bear Tracker won't CRANK OVER!!

I cleaned out all the jets and the entire carburetor.... getting great compression and air... fire seems fine. It just cranks and cranks and cranks.... I changed the plug to see if that would help; nothing. I opened the air box and covered the port to get a rich mix (usually fires right up)... nothing. Just cranks and cranks. When I smelled the exhaust ... smells like wet fuel. What could it be?

sounds to me like its not igniting hmm are the wires on the spark plugs or is the coil bad try taking a plug out with a wire on it and see if it is getting spark make sure you don't get shocked by it lol and make sure the wire is all the way on the plug becuase it might not be getting power...also it should igninte but just check the gaps of the plugs since ull have them out

I pulkled the plug and the gap was completely closed... after I gapped it properly, it's still doing the same thing. I pulled the plug from my brand new ATV, used it, and it still won't fire. When I attached the plug to the plug cap and kept it out of the cylinder (to see spark), I didn't see any.... but when I did the same thing with my new ATV, I didn't see any either (daylight). One thing that concerns me is the plug is wet when I pull it out. Could it be my pickup coil or the primary/secondary coil? I'll check the spark again tonight (in the dark).... thanks for the replies!!
