660 or banshee?
I was worried, but he has already shown me up. A friend has a micro sized motocross track on his property, with super super tight turns, short rough straightaways, and lots of jumps. Mr No Fear 10 year old can turn faster lap times on his KTM 65 SX than I can on my YZ 450F. He just keeps the throttle pinned the whole time, and doesn't even let up for the turns.
And I have to rather embarresedly admit that when I saw him riding the banshee that my second thought was "dang, he'd be pretty good at hillshooting on that thing". My first thought was for his safety, but right after that was the thought that a Banshee could clean up at hillshooting with a 70 lb. rider on board. ok NOW, Picture you 10 year old hopping on my 660. he'd rip his little arms off or do a back flip when he let the clutch out. any quad takes skill to ride. some have it some dont. any quad can go fast thru different terrains its all the rider. to say a banshee is bad in the woods is wrong, a Banshee SUX in the mud, that would be my only warning to you, meanwhile i can idle thru mud in 1st gear, ITS GREAT I LOVE MY TORQUE. i wouldnt trade that tourqe for all the powerband in the world. ive got enought torque to wheelie 1-5. who needs short bursts powerband, when you got CONSTANT POWERBAND on the 660.

To each his own. But don't be naive enough to think kick starters don't break and leave you stranded. I've not only had them break, but had chunks of kick starter gear go floating into other gears and seize the whole darn thing up. They've all got their good and bad habits.

Have you ever ridden a race Banshee wide open through the gears until its topped out in sixth? Just wondering.

Several. The last one being an alcohol Banshee. Darn fast, but I'm into quadding for a lot more than straight-line screaming, as many other people are. As I said, to each his own.

ive been riding since i was 8 years old and riden everything from a 250r to a ltz500. my last quad was a 97 415 banshee, i loved that thing but ppl changed, i love the reliabilty of the 4 stroke and the power curve. and to add to the disscussion i have changed my starter once in 3 years or so. alot of ppl blow threw starters bcuz they constantly start their quads in gear. but they do make a kick start kit for the 660. i think.
