Default Modifing raptor wiring harness

Basically I am wanting to make my look super clean and I have been doing some weight reduction. Is there a way to strip the wiring harness down to just what the motor neeeds to run. I would like to remove all the brake sensors and lights and move the key switch to under the seat or something. Some of the drag raptors that I have seen looked like they didn't have very much wiring at all. Can it be done. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, TDK

You bet it can be done......
I have mine stripped down to just the CDI, rectifier, Kill switch and start button THAT'S IT. Stator still charges battery, starter works excellent........

Is it as easy as just splitting it and pulling those wires out, or is there other stuff involved. I would like to do this, but I don't want to screw it up. Did it clean up the look of the bike alot as well. Thanks, TDK

Yes it is that easy........You need a Schematic of the wiring harness. Go thru and eliminate what ya don't need. I saved about 8 lbs. of weight form eliminating unneeded wire.....PM your E-Mail address and I'll send you some pics of what I've done.

Will my thermostat work with out the wires going to it. I still want to have a fan so I can ride the bike for extended periods of time. I want a drag bike that I can still ride for several hours at a time. What would you suggest I do with the cooling system. Thanks, TDK

TDK E-Mail sent

I don't have any problems running without the fan & thermostat. My inline temp gauge reads 185* cruzing around in 90* temps.

If I make 4 to 5 back to back 300' passes then it runs up to 200*- 210* Thats when I shut it down and let er cool.
