700FI power steering - what happens if battery is low???
Since the new griz 700fi has electric power steering, I was wondering what would happen if the battery died? Does it only require a small amount of electrical power that the motor can supply this or does this come from the battery???

FITSofRAGE was looking at one at the dealer. It was on the nice showroom floor, but with the engine/key off, he said it turned just like normal. I would hope there would be a fail safe type system installed, so it is not like one moron tryed to tell me, he said that the steering would get real hard, just like a truck would be, if the truck engine dies. I find that impossible to believe!

It's as GrizzlyJim states from what I understand. If the unit fails you just don't have any "assist" from the power steering unit. The Grizzly is an easy to steer quad (especially in 2WD) to begin with, however the anti-bump steer effect would also be gone...

what GrizzlyJim and 2TV are saying is correct, it will just steer like the old 660 did pretty much, but as to the original question, I think its just a bunch of guys trying to find excuses or faults in the new 700FI, guys if the battery is low or dead, the quad won't even start so why are you worried about the EPS not working if the battery is goes dead.
