Warrior Carb problems

Well, figures. Just got done with my spark issue and now i have a fuel issue.
I have a spark tester inline so i can keep and eye on it and its a very strong spark. I cleaned the fuel tank, petcock, and the carb. The quad will idle for about a minute and then shut right off like you turned the key off. It does not loose spark at all. if i try to restart right away,it will nto start,if i wait a bit it will run again but do the same.Any ideas what could be wrong. This is a 2003 warrior. Not sure if it could be an acc. plunger etc?

Take the fuel line off the carb and see how fast the fuel comes out of the tank. Try it on RES and ON. If it seems slow, hook up a temp fuel tank to the carb and see if it clears up the problem. Then you know you still got something wrong with the petcock. Take the fuel bowl off the carb and make sure your float is working smooth... also hook up the fuel tank again and see how well it flows into the carb. You could also try opening the drain screw on the carb and seeing how fast fuel comes out.. it should be a pretty even flow.

My flow is excellent into the carb, but when running, the motor is draining the bowl and leaving no fuel in side it. I guess when it sits ,it drains back. I think i might have a needle/seat problem. I tried getting the pin out which holds the floats and it wont slide out. Are these peened over from the facotry so they dont walk out? Most of the carbs i dissassembled the pins slide right out or atleast push out with a pick.

check your carb bowl float height and make sure your pluger is working right, one thing you can do even if u dont need to take a clicking pens spring out and put it as a replace ment for your plungers spring and it wont get stuck as easy

I've had mine apart many times....the pin is pressed in I believe, it will come out, maybe use some penetrant on it. Make sure your float level is good, turn it upside down...and make the carb bowl flat, now see where the float(s) sit, it should be level, if not use a small screwdriver and bend the tab on the float to adjust. Sounds like you do not have enough fuel going through.

dude changing that spring won't affect it at idle.. the accelerator pump doesn't even kick in until 1/4 throttle

Well, tapped out that pin with a small punch. got the needle and seat out. WOW there was a huge chunk of something in there blocking the fuel inlet. Cleaned it out, quad runs amazing. thanks for all the help. Hope to put the plastic etc on this weekend and tidy up loose ends and enjoy it now.

Good, glad you fixed it. Sometimes it can get frustrating.
