If it is like the 350 Warrior it has several interlocks but it the starter is clicking then my guess is that its bad or hung up. Are you sure it is the starter clicking and not the starter relay?

I did charge the battery for a couple of hours and it seems ok, lights are bright etc. The click is the relay, sound is coming from somewhere near the back of the battery. Looks like I will need to remove the plastics to get to the connections and relay.
Unfortunately it is really cold here today so I may leave it for now. Thanks for feedback. |

Its almost never the relay, its a very simple device, and almost bulletproof. Try cleaning the mating surfaces at the battery terminal connection, and if that doesnt do it, have the battery load tested.
You can try hooking up a voltmeter, across the battery terminals, and watching how far the voltage drops while holding the starter button. If it goes below 10 volts, the battery isnt good and needs testing. Any auto parts store like napa will do it for free. |

I was like So I wiggled some wires and it started... So I went riding.. so during the riding I shut it down... didn't start again... wiggle wiggle.. and it started.. GRRR... I was like do I have a short in the harness? ?? ? So the remainder of the day I left it running... End of the day... clean it down... go to start it and it fired up.. Nice... Get home to unload it and Nothing.. GRRR Again... so I just roll it off - it sat in the garage... That night.. I was like DOH! let me check the wires on the battery... sure enough my Negative was loose! So I tightened that sucker up - even used some Purple (the wimpy stuff) locktite! |
