06 YFZ 450 Pipe and Jetting Question
I am looking into full exhaust for my YFZ and I know you have to re-jet. I would also like to change the air intake. I'm looking for a good setup from other yfz owners. I found some good deals on Yosh off road series full exhaust for around 425.00. I know nothing about what jet sizes to use and I don't want to have to mess with it all the time. If any of you have a good, proven set-up I would appreciate any input!

06 YFZ 450 Pipe and Jetting Question
There is no proven perfect method, if you pipe your YFZ your gonna have to do a little playing but I would start around a 170 main and a 45 pilot and air screw out about 2 1/4 turns. The stock settings are a 42 pilot, 158 main i believe. Then by yourself the yz 450 dirt bike needle (ncqv) cant remember exatly what its called. I like all the yoshi pipes, I would go with them or an HMF for low end. If your gonna race the nmotion is the best but very loud.

06 YFZ 450 Pipe and Jetting Question
Thanks for the reply. I guess what I'm looking for is someone who has a Yosh full pipe and what jets they are using. I live in central, PA and the elevation goes from 500 - 2200 ft. I'm not racing on a track or anything, just a couple of friends with lightly modded quads. I don't want the loudest pipe out there, just a little performance gain and a good tone. I've been reading up on a cam mod where you advance the exhaust cam one tooth. Anyone tried this? Thanks for the help.

06 YFZ 450 Pipe and Jetting Question
My brother and I both have YFZ's. His has the cam mod done, mine doesn't. Other than that they are set up VERY similar(same pipe, nerfs, etc.) The cam mod does add some power throughout the rpm range, and since it is free, might as well do it. If you don't like it you can always bring it back to stock

06 YFZ 450 Pipe and Jetting Question
A friend bought the full Yoshi, I bought the full Alba exhaust. He spent $200 more than I did and got the same performance. After playing with the jetting (every night for a week) I found that a 48 pilot and 172 main worked best @ 500 ft. or so. The mixture is 2 3/4 turns. Oh, I would not recommend Dyno jet jet kits for a YFZ. They work well with other machines, but not for the yfz. Hope that helps
