Raptor backfiring won't start cranks great

2002 660 raptor. got used.push start it & it ran.Needed starter bearing. So opened up & bearing & all gears had been removed. So I put in new bearing 52 tooth gear behind bearing.I put in all starter gears & bearings. All seems good.New battery, new starter handelbart switch got rid of E-brake (UNPLUGED)put new clutch lever (unpluged & pluged ito itsself. Now I try to start & it has GREAT compression ,getting fire cranking like a mo@#%#...but it backfires & cranks good but wont hit to start. It wants to start soooo bad.Its got to be simple.help.I havent tried to bump start again after all my parts replacement.HELP!!!one more thing it is leaking gas from one side of carb.if you are on it it is left carb.

are you sure that your timing is all correct on the gears the fuel sounds like maybe the firing is not correct

don't know if it will help, but my raptor was doing this, and all it need was the valve lash adjusted.

My '02 Grizzly 660 was doing the same thing when I picked it up used a couple months ago. I adjusted the valves (the intakes were way too tight) and now it runs like a champ. Give them valves a check.....

Yeah, all my switches are in good order.Bark brake is unpluged, clutch sensor is pluged into itsself.I tried to bump start & everything locked up.My tires started sliding & my starter ,the small little gear on it LOCKED up! So is my starter burned up?Can it be rebuilt?I am wanting to just cry...one thing after another. So what do you guys think locked up my starter?Did my new one way not work right...what does it suppose to do anyway, does it enguage or what, how did I get locked up?Thanks
