i have an 2003 warrior and i want to make it louder. it has a supertrapp slip on. i was wondering if i can do this by removing the rings from the pipe. and if this will work will it lose power , gain power, or even hurt the motor?

Removing the rings on the supertrap well cause you to lose power and in the long run may hurt your engine. if i was you i would get an HMF slip-on. that will make it louder.

You can't make a Supertrapp loud. It is what it is and there's nothing you can do about it. You can remove rings, but then you will lose power and it will still sound like crap. Trust me, I tried it on my brother's 400EX. He had a disk-type White Brothers E-series pipe and removing the disks made things alot worse. You just need to get a HMF. They are the loudest pipe on the market for a Warrior that I have ever heard, and they sound and perform great.

get an HMF pipe and take the spark arrestor out. HOLY $H#t is it loud. K&N plus an open airbox help too.

Louder is definetly not faster. your engine will run hotter, you will lose power, you will lose half the life of your valves. not to mention that it is anoying as hell, and sounds like crap. plus we have lost some of our riding land in GA, and in FL. due to noise. louder is nothing but counter productive, a waist of money, and for people who haven't out grown installing playing cards in the spokes of there peddle bike

some 4 stroke pipes sound bad... but HMF's have a very nice tone to them.. as far as counter productive?? i concur... you have no idea what you are talking about, engine will run COOLER with a slipon( few degrees, nothing spectacular) if you are losing land to people with loud pipes police it yourself and have them quiet it down... waste of money?? nnaahhh

It's a warrior. Leave it as-is and be satisfied.

well don't get rediculous.. there's alot of stuff you can do( under a total of $500) to help the warrior's performance but when u start wanting to do.. internal motor mods and such.. well damnit.. you need a new quad

With a supertrapp type exhaust the discs must be added to permit more airflow which also results in a louder exhaust note.

Removing some of the discs will quiet it down and reduce power/flow/noise.

Removing all of the discs and the endcap will create more noise but will have a negative impact on performance, reliability and won't be federal/state land legal.
