Grizzly big tires temp/cooling fan
 

I bought a grizzly with big road tires, and i think thats the reason the Temp light goes on after driving high spead for longer periods (100km/h for at least 15 min)

Anyone have had the same experiance, or do I need to look for other reasons, the cooling liquid and oil levels are oke and the engine runs normal.

And what is the normal time it take's for the cooling fan to kick in, mine starts within 3-5 min after starting the engine the weather here in holland is about 16-18 degrees celcius.

be sure that the radiator is completely clean with minimal bent fins... (shine a flashlight thru the back of it if you have to...) If that's not it, look into coolant levels. My `01 sometimes light up after going 45-50mph for 1-2 miles then slowing to a crawl... it goes off shortly after though. (and my radiator is not spotless, that's for sure) The fan running isn't that big of a deal unless the temp light stays on constantly as well... Then you might want to start looking into aftermarket coolants... My temp sensor has been a pain on that bike... The wire connector got so corroded that I had to cut it and replace it. (I covered it in dielectric grease this time)

Grizzlies are known to run warm... but I've never heard of anyone's actually breaking down because of it...

thanks for thr advice I got 2 hands full of mud out of the radiator I think that should do the trick, tomorow test driving should cool better now that the fan realy can suck the air thrue the radiator.

I just had a similar problem with my 01 600 Grizzly. There are 2 wires coming out of the fan. Take that plug apart and make sure there is no dirt in there... My fan hasnt worked in 2 months and I finally got a chance to look at it. I opened this up and a TON of crap fell out. Now the fan works like a charm.

He guys,

it cools like a charm now, done 50 km with speeds between 80 and 105 km/h
no problems at all.
My problem was that te air could not flow thrue the radiator although the fan tried hard to suck it thrue after cleaning the radiator it works fine now.
