I have a 2003 Yamaha 350 warrior with 22x11x9 for tires. What is a good tire size? Im looking at 20x10x9s is this a better size?

It all depends on what you want..."handling and stability" which is almost unheard of from a warrior....compared to todays rigs. I have 20x11 Razr's on the back of mine and I love them. I did lose some ground clearance, but thats not to big a deal to me. It does track and steer alot better than it did with the stockers on it. Although I only had it for a week before I got rid of 'em. Besides performance, it looks a hell of alot better than it did!

Do you have the big round, stock, balloon type tires? These are two inches shorter, "square" and overall shorter....if you just want to take off quick change sprockets, it's cheaper. I already feel like 1st gear is almost a waste, it's so low. As for handling, it's obvious. It turns better, gets better traction everywhere and takes a "line". The big goofy balloon tires wanted to bounce and go over everything, these do not. I'm not claiming to be fast on this, it's a stock warrior....Although I have raced MX/HC/GNCC for 25 years on two weheels (and continue to do so). This bike, just with tires is leaps and bounds better than it was. I don't want to confuse anyone, or make anyone think I know what I'm doing on 4 wheels, as I bought this just to around with on the trails with my woman. Buy tires....that sums it up easily.

Yeah get some smaller, lightweight rear tires and they will help with take-off and handling like tpiwb said. The holeshot GNCC 20x10x9 is an awesome trail tire. It's the lightest 6 ply tire I could find and it hooks up in almost anything. My buddy just put some 21x11x9 GNCC's on his Warrior and he wishes he would have gotten the 20x10x9's.

If you step down from 22" to 20" you're only losing 1" of ground clearance. Everybody I ride with runs 20's and we do OK. Just straddle the ruts and keep the tires on the higher ground.

I'm running 22x11's on the rear (see my pics). I pretty much ride trails (with rocks and good size ruts), so I wanted to maintain the clearance.
