Based on several 2001 banshees I've seen I am very suspicious that Yamaha intentionally made a small modification to the 2001 banshee making it slightly faster - maybe something different with the pipe or porting. The performance of the DS650 and Raptor would be a reason for such an adjustment.

But I've also heard bad things about FMF pipes - like being worse than stock.
