Hey!

Midway through a rebuild on an LT250R my wife told me to just get a new bike. I thought that since she was nice enough to make me get a new one, I would be nice enough to get one she might be able to handle. After great research I settled on the '07 450 wolverine. Even though I miss the clutch-popping, tail-spinning, wheelie-gettin' power of the 2-stroke 250, I have had a blast on the wolverine. The wife isn't showing much interest yet, but I'll give her time. Anyway, I have notice a "rattle" or vibration out of the right side of the motor until it is warmed up....is this normal? Also, sometimes when I put it in forward, it kicks in and jumps as I shift....normal? This is a great site and I'm glad I found it. THANKS in andvance ya'll.

If you have the choke on making the engine rev up a little, it will jump when you put it in gear. Make sure you arent pushing in the throttle, or the choke isnt too high before you shift. As for the noise, how violent is it? Is it just regular valve noise, or something clanking?

yhea if your idle is adjusted too high it will jerk when you shift into gear. I have a little noise on the right side of my motor as well, so its probably nothing to worry about.

I put my break on to help stop the jerk. But make sure there are any revs before you shift or it can ruin gears,

Im a newbie with my wolverine. I have noticed this too. It doesnt do it until when you do not have the choke on and have the rpm's up. I got mine for christmas. I love mine.

The jerking into gear is from slightly too high an RPM, like during cold start warm up.

The rattle type sound seems to be inherent in the 450. It doesn't seem to affect durability from my experience. Kind of like the older Cummins diesels that you had to shut off at the drive trough window because everyone around couldn't hear your over the clatter!

It's a quiet rattle, so it's not much concern. As for the cummins diesel, I have one of those to, so the wolverine can atleast run while at the drive-thru. thanks.

lol, I have only taken my powerstroke through the drive-thru a few times, and I had to shut it off every time....and mine is fairly quite compared to an older cummins.
