OK. here is my .02. It might be biased but I think the the outlaw 525 sra is a better comparison with the raptor. And the 700xx to the outlaw 525 irs. the rappy and outlaw s would be tight, test ride them both and see what you like better. The 700xx I dont think will keep up with the outlaw irs(dont know because there not out but polaris has a big head start and awesome power.) so depends on what you want. trail riders swear by the irs quads, say they are so smooth. I guess go try out everything and see what you like.

i have personally seen a yfz 450 out run a outlaw 525 may be rider i dont know,i was on my banshee and spanked both of them on the next race.anyway a raptor has a very low compression engine.there so detuned it aint funny.you could never mod a outlaw 525 to run with a modded raptor.the banshee's used to rule the dunes, now raptors rule the dunes.also i thought this post was about a raptor 700 or honda 700xx.i also seriously doubt that your outlaw 525 will out run a new honda 700xx,i guess we will have to wait to see its specs, you know its gonna have more tourque and all out power than a 450r and they by no means are slow.i also think my slowest atv will out runyour outlaw 525 modded ltz400z.i totally smoke a friends preddy 500 like he's parked.look at sum of the turbo raptors on the dunes on you tube and streetfire.com and other sites.then look on the same sites to see what a polaris is out running at the dunes nothing.

I did not get on here and say anything bad about either quad. I just stated my opinion. and unless your z 400 has HEAVY mods not a chance at 300-400 ft. And also whats the compression on the 525???? pretty low as well. rip all you want but the outlaw 450 mxr came in second in a 660 foot drag out of all the 450s. KTM was first. that includes a yfz doesnt it? Rip Polaris like every other hater does. Doesnt matter, I just stated the 525s vs rappy is a better comparison. same with outlaw irs vs 700xx. Its just my opinion that the outlaw irs is gonna be better. But like I said, wait and see. Thats all we can do.

thats right dont try and compare sumthing that doesnt have any specs yet.im no more of a honda fan than a polaris fan.i do know honda atv's are reliable but most of them i have owned and ridden are slow they dont make any horse power.my z400 may not even out run your 525 but the z i have is not slow.hot rods athena 435 big bore kit, stage 3 hot cams, ported head, stage 5 exhaust, dyna rev box, shaved head 13 to 1 compression on race gas.torque monster for what it is.i have lost a few and won a few.also im not a polaris hater have owned a few of them just never had any luck with a polaris, seems like i was working on the ones i have owned more than i was rding them, thats my opinion.theres sumthin out there for every one im glad yoyu like polaris and the outlaw is working for you.i have seen sum fast polaris atv's at the sand drags but the fast ones i have seen have snowmobile or jet ski engines.

I was not tryin to compare somethin that was not out yet. If you read back I said I think but I dont know because they are not out yet, nut the outlaw has awesome power and a head start. As far as reliability goes Honda does have a great reputation. Polaris doesnt but they have gotten MUCH better, but people still bag on them for that. Everyone makes improvements. They are built well nowadays. And ya Ill bet that z does fly. I had looked into them before I bought my Preddy but for what we do I liked the preddy better. You dont see alot of turbo rappys and real highly modded quads around Iowa here cause we have no dunes or wide open spaces. We have fields, trails, and tracks. Id love to ride the dunes though!!

Thanks alot guys,
I'm sure this info helps ease some people just thinking about the new 700xx... Also, I'm still up in the air about quads and even if I should just stay on two wheels. I know atvs are by-far more fun out of the two choices. But, with everything said about the 700xx it seems worth the wait...and the first year will be the craze anyway... then 09 will be the aftermarket blow-out!
The only arguement to the new 700xx is if Honda uses the same stuff from their other line-up so that nothing new can be or will be up for faliure off the line.

Very interesting, and hopefully enjoyable to boot!

Hands down decision if 0% for 60 months Or even 2 years! **** 1 year!

Expose yourself HONDA...

Demo day in Richmond, VA... I'll pay for the food!

The 700xx is the xr 650r Tweaked , I have it in Dirt wheels magazine and it gots 75 hp to the wheels so i think the raptor will have a really hard time considering the xr was a really reliable bike and also the amount of speed it is gonna have The raptor only has 49 horsepower to the wheels plus the xx is gonna be a lot smoother because its gonna have independent suspension. I personally think its gonna be the best summer bike out there , for speed , handling , comfort , reliability.

I think you need to consider all the terrain you'll be driving in. If its mostly dunes, a Raptor 700 or better yet, a Can-Am DS650 Baja will be the top choice for 4-stroke sport quads. Also consider the very different suspension, the 700XX has the IRS which is designed to prevent sliding and keep the wheels locked to the ground, and the straight axle quads like the Raptor and DS650 are designed to slide a bit and be more nimble. And if you're hell-bent on getting a big bore sport quad, the Raptor, Outlaw S, KTM 525, DS650, Outlaw IRS, TRX 700XX will be what you need to ride, because all the information you need is in the ride.

PS: Rotax engines are in Bombardier products (Can-Am, Ski Doo, etc...), the Polaris Outlaw 450 and 525 use KTM engines.
