Default YAMAHA WARRIOR CLUTCH SLIPPING

I HAVE A WARRIOR THAT RUNS STRONG UNTILL IT GETS WARM THEN THE CLUTCH STARTS SLIPPING. IT NEVER DOES IT WHEN ITS COLD

What kind of oil do you use?

Default YAMAHA WARRIOR CLUTCH SLIPPING

I JUST BOUGHT IT. THE OLD OWNER GAVE IT A OIL CHANGE JUST BEFORE I GOT IT SO I HAVE NOT CHANGED IT YET.

I use Shell Rotella Synthetic 10W50 in mine and have no clutch trouble. All the cluthces Ive wore out in any quad did the opposite they slipped worse when they were cold.

My first guess would be that they went to walmart and grabbed the cheapest automotive oil off the shelf for the oil change. A lot of people learn the hard way that regular automotive oils have friction modifiers and other additives in them that reduce the clutch's friction and permenantly make it slip.

You're probably going to need to replace the clutch, and to play it safe run motorcycle or atv specific oil that is designed to work with wet clutches. It's a buck or 2 more a quart, but it's cheap insurance that you won't need to be replacing your clutch for the same reason anytime soon.
