Yeah those are different sizes of bored out cylinder pistons. You need a stock size.

stock size unless u need to re bore it, best thing to do is jst get it bored to the next size to save the life of ur cylinders 4 future rebuilds, if u get a shop to do it you can just tell them to order a set of wiseco pistons the next size up from stock then theyll bore it out accordingly to your pistons. if your bore is very clean looking then you might be able to just hone it and then re-ring

well how does it cold start? if it fires right up when its cold chances are its fine. best thing to do to see if you need a rebuild would be to just put a compression tester on it. "If it aint broke dont fix it" as some people say...lol.

I had a 97 Banshee that I owned for 4 or 5 years and it ran perfect the entire time, and I never touched the thing. (nary a spark plug, piston, nothing)
Just goes to show that if the machine is tuned perfectly and is taken care of perfectly, it will last a long time. That thing screamed like a SOB when I bought, and sold it. |
I sent my cyls. to Fullbore. I found them on Ebay. They bored them and sent me new pistons and a top end gasket set. It cost me $299.00 with shipping. Starts first kick even when it's very cold out. It now has 135 psi compression.

what if you put 1 hour on it every weekend?
|
Rebuilding really depends on the type of riding you are doing and the machine its self. If your racing then about every 20hrs is the norm for a rebuild, However if your a weekend Warrior, its going to depend on the machine its self. If you start to notice and issue with performance then its time to look at rebuilding. Or like previously stated if you are having issues starting it in the cold. This would point out that you have wear in the cylinder and your compression is low because of blow by on your rings.
Kenoconnorracing.com is another good place to go. He puts a lot of info on his site and also has videos of his work. |
