Who's fastest?
 

Hello,
I have read on this site about how much power the XP Polaris and others say that the Can Am's are the baddest and am wondering who does have the top dog right now in the Utility class. I have an 08 Griz 700 FI/EPS and while I am not into drag racing and the like, I would like to know just how much more these other quads have on us Yamaha owners, if they have anything on us at all. I know that in the woods where I ride none of them are going to do any better than I do if they are any larger physically than what I have. I was at the Badlands in Indiana following a Brute Force 750 and he didn't have anything on me for sure. We sat at the bottom of one of the tallest pea gravel mounds out there and we both drag raced up the side and I beat him by almost a full length. I know the Polaris has more horsepower but don't know if they have enough more to compensate for the additional weight that they have?

Well can ams are definitly not the top dogs. The polaris 850xp beats can am any day. I dont know about the artic cat 1000 but it used to be the largest quad on the market, but in terms of you yahama owners u are the leading. Take a look at the new yamaha v-max that was previews in the last issue of dirt wheels is like 1600cc engine so i guess it looks pretty cool.

Hey Kingquad400 look on my pics page it is the new Bombardier that just came out it has a 1300 CC motor putting out over 200 HP LOL.

lol. Oops, i got tricked last year =(. Haha, I never knew they did that for April Fools. But back on the subject, I think that Polaris's new XP is the 'top dog' according to the new XP owners and users, but I still say the Can-Am Renegade 800R X is the 'top dog', and here again, thats only because i love the Candy-Yams xD =D

So, back to my question for you guys. In a 300' drag race how much do you think the XP would win by? Over the 700 Griz FI that is, or would it win at all? I know they have more hp but it also has alot more weight.

im guessing it would win by 50-75 feet. But id take a reliable quad over a bit faster quad that has some reliability issues

weight has alot to do with the speed too......i have a 08 brute force 750 with only hmf exhaust, i weigh about 145lbs and raced a 850xp with the guy weighing around 250lbs and he only beat me by 8-10 ft!
