2002 warrior 350
 

I just picked up a 2002 warrior it runns pretty well but it seems like the engine starves for gas when the rpms get up there. It also shifts hard, and nuetral is hard to find while the motor is running. I will be cleaning the carb out amd changing oil this weekend. Any suggestions? oil type? anything else to check?

I also have to replace the muffler, any cheap slipons?

I had an 02 Warrior and it was great. The hard to find neutral is common on lots of bikes. It could be the clutch out of adjustment for that. The carb prolly needs a good cleaning and make sure that the fuel filter or screen is clear. Could also be water in the bowl. Taking the carb off, cleaning it really well, and putting in a new needle and seat isn't hard to do and is cheap. I would drain the tank, fill it with fresh fuel and a moisture eliminator. The Warrior is one of the most bulletproof quads ever built IMO, good luck and have fun with it.

I agree with cody on this one. Check your clutch adjustment for nuetral issue and clean carb and put a new fuel filter on for the cutting out. You might also check your spark, make sure it is good. As for a slip-on exhaust, I dont know about cheap but I really like my FMF.

I found a stock muffler on ebay for 150 bucks, i put a new spark plug in and the carb cleaning is to come. I will check the fuel filter. As for oil full synthetic sounds like the way to go. How much oil does the motor hold? any type prefered?

If you are going to spend $150 on a stock muffler you might as well dish out $220 for an aftermarket. $150 is way high for a stocker (if its used, which is the only kind of stock I would buy).

Warrior's do not have a fuel filter, but what you can do and is highly recommended is get one of the inline filters that many lawn mowers use and splicing it into the fuel line. It needs to fit 1/4" ID fuel line.

On that oil, make sure it is a motorcycle motor oil, and specifically wet-clutch safe.
2.5qt w/o filter change, 2.75 w/ change.

Dang Beefy, you have a TON of mods on that Warrior. I bet it flies. I've always liked Warriors. How much better than stock is it?

yea i second what everyone else said it prolly just needs carb, filter cleaned and such, as for a pipe if you need a new one your much better off to just buy an HMF slip-on there only about $210-230 bucks and sound good with good power output.

yep hmf all the way. i also have a buddy that has a white bros on his 2001 and it sounds awsome but i bet hmf sounds even better. happy trails.

It gets the job done, to say the least. I can run with anyone on the trails no matter how quick we are moving. My biggest problem is I still need a new set of front shocks, but cash is tight so I have been holding off. In a drag I can outrun most 400EX's and some Z400's depending on how modded they are and if the rider knows how to ride it.
