03 Bear Tracker Carb

03 Bear Tracker Carb
Have a 2003 Bear Tracker that has sat for about 2 years, it has been kept indoors and not exposed to weather. Takes forever to get it started and when it does it runs awful and if it stalls it will not restart, fuel runs out the bottom of the float bowl. Have taken carb off and cleaned but am considering a new carb, does anyone know of any type of aftermarket carb to fit that is priced reasonable. Yamaha wants between 400-500 for a new one. Or any advice on how to fix this problem would be great...Thanks

Dont buy new carb. just clean carb good. remvove all jets and slide, rubber parts, [but soak jets too but not in carb remove them]soak in berryman carb cleaner bout 6 or 8 hours then remove and blow compressed air thru out carb, and install new repair kit, should work fine.. I dont understand people replacing carb. in my 38 years of working on these things only had to replace one carb. and that was because someone broke off an float hinge while trying to get pin out.. Good Luck..
