Default 2001 yamaha breeze fast idle

I bought a 125 breeze for my grandson about a month ago. It starts fine and runs fine but when you come to a stop it still idles very high. I am going to clean the carb in the next few days and was looking for any advice on what part of the carb may be causing this problem. Thanks

Take the choke plunger apart and clean the bore and plunger VERY well.

The choke circuit has an air bleed it can pull air in while the choke is on. Kind of like a fast idle for a car with a carb.

This took me about an hour or so to figure out where the engine was pulling air from!!!

The air bleed is on the right side of the carb if you are looking from the air cleaner side. It's about a 3/16's hole. When the engine is doing its thing, put your finger over the hole. The RPM should slow down.

Let me know what you find.
