2004 Kodiak Questions

Thanks for all the input on tires.

Do you guys change your own tires? Saw a small bench changer at Harbor Freight for around 60 buck. Was considering purchasing it.

Do they have to be balanced in any way??

Winch cable snapped (steel). I cut about 4 feet off of it. What is the best way to crimp the loop back? Those bolt together u-bolts don't seem to held good enough.

I see no grease spots on the under carriage anywhere on this machine. Am I missing something??

I just get a tire shop to do it because it does not cost much and you do not get new tires often.
They must balance them because when I get the wheel back it has a new lead weight on the edge of the rim.
Grease spot? you mean Grease fitting?
If so ,Yamaha uses sealed bearings ,so the are not many or any.

I,m with you I would not trust a U-bolt on the hook loop. Do you have a place like in town http://www.slingchoker.com/ That could make a proper loop for you?

Thanks for the replies, nothing like a place like that. Tractor supply is about what we have......

Maybe it would be best to switch out the cable......it snapped with the plow while plowing
