Yamaha Warrior 350 year identification help?

Hey guys, i have a Yamaha 350 Warrior that i have no idea how to identify it. It SEEMS as if the VIN number is either under paint or has been chiseled off. I have been unsuccessful trying to identify it any other way without the VIN number. Any ways you guys can think of? Any help is appreciated!

If the VIN is chiseled off or ground down it may have been stolen as some point or another. It will be hard to pinpoint the exact year without the VIN, but you could start with the headlights. If the headlights are round and mounted up near the handlebars then it is a 1990 or newer. The 87-89 Warriors had square headlights mounted down lower between the front fenders. The fender colors could help narrow it down some but there is no guarantee it still has the original fenders on it. They were basically unchanged from 1990-2004 with the exception of some wiring so most all parts will interchange.

Yes what are your plastic colors

EvanP 02-20-2013 07:24 PM

The plastics are maroon-ish red and silver. Also, the Warrior has to be from 90's on from what Raptor450 said. The lights are farther up near the handlebars. Any idea from that info?

Ya 87-88 were first gen, headlights lower and other chassis differences, 89-04 were second gen, 04- are third gen or raptor 350

Red and gray sound like 89-90, is there square headlights on it

Honestly i don't know about the head lights. When i bought it the guy had lost or broken the original ones and it didn't have any on it.

You can also get a round about idea of the year by the plugs on the cdi
