When I got it it was running. The guy I got it from said the starter didn't work so he jacked it up and cranked in fifth gear by spinning the tires. It cranked fairly easy this way. I got it home and did the same thing so I could park it. The next day it would not crank. I got the starter working but all it does is turn over. It will occasionally pop through the carb, as in start a small fire. I already own one of these that I have done a top end rebuild on so I am very familiar. I checked the timing and it is right. I checked the compression and it is at 125 psi. I adjusted the valve clearance to specs and it still does the same thing. Carb has also been cleaned. One thing to note is that the guy I got it from had been running it without a battery. I checked the spark and it appears good. It seems like ignition timing but these moto 4s have no ignition timing adjustment. What do you think?
