2000 yamaha banshee exhaust pressure?

I recently purchased a 2000 banshee. It runs like a champ. Starts right up has 150 psi compression on both cylinders. I have never had the engine apart so I don't know if it is stock or what.

My question is when you put your hand where the exhaust comes out there is very little pressure hitting it. Is this normal? I know on my 400 grizzly there is a noticeable pop to it as it hits your hand.

Yup, normal. A few things at work here. First, each cylinder is only 175cc compared to your 400cc Grizz. Second, 2 strokes of this type do not burn all the air fuel mix they have cleanly. The expansion chambers are designed to actually force some of this unburned mix back into the cylinder vs out the silencer. When that engine "comes on the pipe," that is actually the point that your porting, rpm, and pipe design all come together to "supercharge" the engine! It also softens that pop you might feel on your hand too. 150psi sounds like a healthy motor though.
