I talked my grandfather into giving me his old 85 Yamaha yfm200 that's been sitting in a barn for 5 years. When I got it home we hooked it up to a new battery since the old one was shot. The pull cord was gone so I jumped the solenoid and it turn over a good 5 times. But now it won't even do anything. When jumping the solenoid there isn't even any sparks. It acts like it doesn't have any power. But the battery is good. I could really use some help.

 

Thanks for nobody responding but I figured it out.

 

What did it turn out to be?

 

It turned out to be a bad relay, it apparently got trapped between the air box and muffler sometime before it was put away, so it was half melted.
