2005 250 Bruin
I bought this bike as a fixer upper to sell. Never heard it run. It needed a cdi box.
Installed a new cdi, it would idle but as soon as I touched the throttle it would die. Tried everything I know to do to the carb, same thing.
Bought a brand new carb. Same thing. Carb is jetted and adjusted right I am 100% sure.
New pickup coil and stator. Air gap is correct.
Like I said it idles perfect, as soon as I touch the throttle it dies. Seems like a carb issue to me but I do not know what else to do.
Everything is in time, valves adjusted correctly, etc.... this one is kicking my butt.
You don't know how bad this is killing me to have to post on a forum. I can usually figure things out.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
TIA.

Is enough fuel getting to the carb? Did you change the plug? Check your voltage regulator by putting a voltmeter across the battery with it running, you may not get a lot of volts on tickover but if you get 15v + the regulator is faulty and could have fried your old and new CDI.
I have known a faulty CDI cause this problem.
