My Atv hasn't been washed since my last ride
I usually wash my Atv regularly but the last time i rode it was about few months ago. Since then i left for college and left the atv in the care of my brother and dad. I come back for the weekend and i realize that they haven't washed it since. They tried to start it and it wouldn't start. So does that mean that there's damage to it or do i just have to wash it for it to start?

Start at the battery and make sure all electrical connections are tight and clean. Pull the electrical connectors apart, blow out any moisture and use electrical grease. Same for the plug wire boots.Blow out any mud or water first, pull the boot and use a dab of grease on the inside and outside. Hopefully this will help.

If it hasn't been ridden for several months, the battery is probably dead. Has nothing to do with the atv being muddy or not. Atv batteries won't hold a charge that long without being on a trickle charger. Pull the battery and put it on a charger and most likely it will start once the battery is fully charged. As OPT said its definitely a good idea to check the connections but most likely the battery has discharged from sitting for so long.
