HELP Please!! 2003 Kodiak 450 won't start...
 

I have a 2003 Yamaha Kodiak 450 that won't start. I have switch the spark plug. It is getting a spark when I test on atv. I have gas and the kill switch is not engaged. I was getting the clicking noise, so I connected jumper cables from the truck to the 4 wheeler. It is trying to start, but it seems like it isn't getting gas or something. I don't leave gas in the carb when it sits. Any thoughts?

Well, I just went back into the gargage and turned the petcock to reserve and it fired right up. So I am thinking it need to get a new petcock.

Or it was too low on fuel to run in the "on" position. :)

No...don't think that is it. The tank is almost full :lmao:

Easy to check...simply turn petcock off, remove fuel line from carb, place fuel line into a glass cup ( or whatever you want to use ), turn the fuel on....see how it flows in the "on" position and then.....on the "reserve" position. :)

I know its a fuel system thing, because if theres spark then its not ignition or nothing. Instead it reverts to the fuel system.
