My new (used) raptor 350
Hey guys. New member here.
I recently bought a raptor 350. Yes I'm new and wanted a good beginner quad. The guy I bought it from kept it up and maintained it really good. Paper work for service, no metal shavings in oil, oil is clean, etc. anyways. We used the lift method to put it in the bed of my truck. Unloaded the same way. Now it won't start for more than a minute before dying. Tried the choke, gas is only a couple weeks old. The guy had started it and rode it before I took it home.
After unloading it, I noticed oil is in the air filter box under the seat. I'm guessing from tipping it so steep to unload it? Anyways, it won't start now and if it does it dies with or without choke. I'm a lost newbie and bumming because I dunno where to start besides changing the spark plug.
Any help appreciated!

The lift method could of caused the oil in the air box. Also oil could be to full. Correct full mark is half way up the check window for oil. For the not running, the jarring of lift method may have knocked some dirt loose and got stuck in carb, may need cleaned. Gas could be just old enough not to combust right. I suggest draining gas tank, add fresh gas and some seafoam. if it runs, but poorly, carb clean. if oil still gets in air box and the level is correct, might want to check piston rings/compression, valves, etc.

Sorry to hear that. I have lifted many a quad into a truck bed and never had an issue. Heck, I even store them on the grab bar with no issue. Still, oil in the air box is troubling. I would start with the easy stuff, drain the carb and fuel tank, put a fresh plug and fuel in and try it again.
