Raptor 660 vs 2 stroke 250cc dirt bike
Between a 250cc 2 stroke dirt bike and a Raptor, what will win? My understanding is that a Raptor has about 38hp and where as most dirt bikes in the 250 class have over 45hp. Shouldn't the dirt bike win? Or will the Raptor. I think that a dirt bike would win in a drag, but the Raptor should have the advantage on the mx track. When you look at the power to weight ratio, the dirt bike is better, but will it put the power to the ground better. Which will have the better acceleration and top end? Does anyone know?

In my experience, on flat ground a 250 dirt bike will take a piped raptor, but if the raptor has any motor work, the raptor should beat a close to stock 250. I've raced my friends piped cr250 and beat him every time in a 1/4 mile drag, but he smoked my other friends piped raptor.

please tell me I misread that?
mx bikes can be competittively raced at a local level in stock form.........
and in stock form with a good rider it could nearly lap a raptor in your average moto (both in stock form)
the 250's are geared 2 low stock......for the first 100' (in a drag) or so it will kill the raptor......but after that the raptor will fly by it.....
geared properly i think the 250 would leave a piped raptor all the way through the gears and onto top end......
i'm doing some gearing changes on my yz.........we will soon find out.........

Raptor 660 vs 2 stroke 250cc dirt bike
Last year I was racing an old CR500 up a sand hill. I would blow him away on the start just because I had so much more traction (two 11 inch wide paddles compared to one 6 inch wide paddle), but he always caught me about 3/4 of the way up the hill. For all you Michigan boys, this was at Bull Gap Hill. I don't know the angle or length of the hill, maybe 300 to 400 yards.

As for the drags, I agree with scary. Gear it right, and the bike will still leave your "average" raptor.

U guys are nuts, a 250cc 2stroke dirt bike will eat up a fourwheeler. I like atv's better, but my RM250 kills my 400, my buddies raptor, or any other quad on the track r drag strip.
I dont see how u can say 250's are a joke, considering I highly doubt your raptor will even come close to one. Im not trying to afend nobody, it is just the truth.
