1999 warrior cam removal help
#11
I managed to remove the old bearing and put it on my new cam. My next question is this bearing suppose to be flush?(pic) i just tighten down those clips and now the cam wont turn freely. I remember the bearing did not go all the way back but dont know if i went back far enough. Also after this when i tighten the two bolts to the valve when do i stop? When they just touch the valve right?

I managed to remove the old bearing and put it on my new cam. I am in the process of putting it all back together and i have two questions..is the cam bearing suppose to be flush or does it stick out a little? I am asking because i just put on the two cam clips and now it wont spin freely by hand. I remember the bearing bearing didnt go all the way back on the cam but not sure if i went back far enough. Also after that once i get to the valves i tighten the two bolts by hand until they touch the top of the valves correct?

Can't remember about the bearing, if it bends the keep plates when you tighten them, it isn't in far enough. On the valve adjusters, no, there should be a clearance between adjuster bolt and valve. Not sure exactly what, but so a 0.006" feeler gauge just goes between, should be close, a special cam may require a different clearance to the standard. Frankly fitting a hot cam on it's own, isn't going to make much difference to your engine, may even loose power at the lower end, which is often where you need it on a Quad.
