Yamaha 4 Zinger

I am very new to the whole 2-Stroke motor workings, any basic help would be most appreciated. I have a 1986 Yamaha 4 Zinger for my son. It will start and runs great for about 10 minutes. Then it dies like it is not getting any fuel. I have checked the fuel and it is fine. I have had carb off several times and put back on and still will not start. Wait until the next day, it fires right up and will run again for about 10 minutes or at least 300 yards from the shop, and then it dies. Will not start. I think it is an electrical problem, I am just not sure how to test or fix. Thank you for your help .

Your float might need to be adjusted does it spudder out when it dies? or just kill? if it spuders out I bet your running out of fuel in the carb since your float isn't opening soon enough to keep up with the flow.

I am sure it is not a fuel issue. The motor dies like you hit the kill switch. No spudder. The Kill switch in the rear was deactivated prior to me owning the machine. It appears to be directly bypassed.

When the fault is on, check if you are getting a spark at the plug.
