Had an 85 moto 4 (I believe a 250) gifted to me. Last year it cranked over. But did not atart, sat for about 9 months. I cleaned and rebuilt the carb, brand new battery. Now neutral light will not come one, only ligg that comes on is oil temp, and it stays on a couple seconds and fades to off. Headlights and tail light work perfectly, but cannot get it to start. Tried jumoing from the posts on the starter, its a no go. Please help, at a loss.

 

Check connections on the battery and solenoid. And try crossing the posts on the solenoid make sure key and kill switch are both on and rock it to make sure its in neutral and the reverse lever is in forward.
