07 Wolverine 450 Carb Help
Very amateur mechanic and i'm in need of some help...
I'm replacing the carb on my 07 Wolv 450. The first question of many I'm going to have is - where are all of the adjustment screws located at to make this run right? I've heard tales of one under a brass cap somewhere?
Thanks in advance,
Tim

Often, they place a brass cap over the A/F mixture screw...on motorcycles they used to do this because they'd run them super lean at idle to pass emissions...you can carefully drill these out to gain access to the adjuster screw (common practice on all Gen1 Yamaha Vmax's)...this mixture screw has the most impact off idle through 1/4 throttle...

If it is Chinese it probably won't have any covers over the mixture screw. Fit the carb and try it. You will have to set the idle throttle stop, but may well get away without adjusting the mixture screw. On some carbs the main jet can be adjusted by altering the height of the needle in the CD piston, by fitting the circlip into different notches on the needle. Again, if it runs right once warm, don't alter it.
