oil light on fan constantly run
big bear 4x4 YFM400FWNM(C). turn key on oil light on fan also on. unplug oil temp sensor fan stop. oil light stays on. Just started out of blue. Mechanic told me to change the oil temp sensor and change the oil. Is this going to fix the problem? Is this going to keep it from getting hot?

"Is this going to fix the problem?" YES
"Is this going to keep it from getting hot?" NO
The sensor detects when the engine oil gets to a certain temperature, and switches the fan on. Yours is switching the fan on at too low a temperature. So replacing it with a new one will fix it. Not sure why the oil light is still on, it may have another sensor which is also broken. Though most oil lights shine for a few seconds when you switch on, to prove the bulb works, then go out until the engine really does overheat.
