Neutral switch assembly and neutral pin replacement

I have a Grizzly 660 that would not display gear indicating lights. I removed the old assembly in crumbly pieces and by epoxying a bolt to the remnants of the unit to get it out of the crankcase. The neutral pin had worn a groove into the old switch. Upon replacement, lights didn’t work. I attached an alligator clip to the neutral pin and was able to make all lights work by touching each switch contact to the clip. This leads me to believe that the neutral pin is worn down enough as to not make contact with the new switch. Can the pin be replaced? Is the procedure as simple as removing the star drive screw holding the plate that holds the pin and spring in place behind the neutral switch assembly?

Yes, yamahaman68, all you need to do is back off that star drive screw that holds down the plate that holds the neutral pin and spring in place. Once replaced, the new pin will make contact with the new neutral switch assembly and light up what gear your in on your display. Don’t forget to use blue thread locker on that star screw!
