we have a 92 big bear 350 that has intermittent spark. everything points to a bad cdi. everything tests good.

weird thing is: I've seen it run on this cdi, then quit and not run since. still intermittently has spark.

just curious to see if anyone else has seen and fixed a similar issue? thinking I might have to make the educated guess and buy an aftermarket cdi, just wondering if anyone has seen this and had a different outcome.

I have never had good luck with after market CDI boxes. If you have OHM'd out your stator and coil and your fuse and ground is good I would think it is the cdi. Buy a new OEM one if their available or a used one off ebay. I had a 200 that had inconsistent spark with a mr electric cdi. tried one off a parts machine I purchased and runs like a top.
