i (well my dad) have a very old big bear w/a high / low shifter. it works great. we only had to take it apart and rebuild it once and now it works like its new. the shifer is for playing/ offroad. if you want to play, go fast or ride fast trails you wood keep it in high. when you get to the deep mud, big rocks, tall hills, flip it into low for wicked low gears. the engin will give out tons of power while you are gong slow and nuthing will stop thoes wheels from turning. it is a great tool for offroading. The best things you could do for a big bear are big agressive tires and skid plates when you have thoes you can go through anything.

my father and i know the machine in and out so
any other questions please e-mail me

I have three Big Bears: One 97 4x4 and a 97 BB SE with high/low range and reverse from any gear. I also have a 98 BB 4x4 with Vampire tires, all three will go anywhere I want to go. What would you like to know?
