I'm shopping for new front shocks for my Raptor. The Works and PEP are in my price range ($500-600 pr.) but the DeRisi, Elka, and Custom Axis are more than I want to spend ($750-$900).

I do not race but ride quite aggresively in the desert and I was hoping somebody with experience with the Works or PEPs shocks could advise as to any significant differences between the two.

Thanks, Eric

I cannot comment on the pep shocks... But I have works triple rates on the front of my banshee and an ultracross in the rear. It's hard to say if the shocks alone made all the difference, Because I put new arms and swing on at the same time. But I can now tackle whoops with ease compared to the stock pogo sticks the banshee comes with.
In my opinion...the works shocks really do work

I can not speak for how work's or PEP ride however you might want to check on the availability of the shocks. I have had PEP fronts on order for 4 months now. They should be here soon but I have become impatient and would settle for something that I could have right away.

I've got Works Steelers on my DS-650, (no rezzies or piggybacks, but I think rezzies can be added) They are the only cheap, $335/pair, shock available and they work great. Customer service is top-notch, and I got them in less than 2 weeks, "custom built" to my specs. Triple rate springs, I wanted them a little softer, Sandy at works told me how to adjust the springs. They made all the difference in the world, well worth the dough. I too have a hard time swallowing $700 for a pair of shocks, though I would consider a little more for piggybacks, which I think are just too cool. Considering they are just "to cool" the shock fluid. There I go, cracking myself up again.

Hey, I just ordered a new Grizzly for me and a new Raptorette for my 4 year old!! I have to share the Grizz with my almost 13 year old, he wants green or beige for hunting, I want red 'cause I like red, but red and silver won't be out for a while, so I guess it's beige. Time to update my profile...

I know you said the Elka's are more than you want to spend but call them and talk to Martin. He is very aggressive and he will work with you. I have installed them on my raptor and don't regret spending the little extra. My friend has works on the front of his raptor and he is now saying after a short ride on mine that he should have spent the extra bucks. Elka's phone # 450-655-4855
