Hey confederate hills, a fellow Z man huh? I rode my Z for years up until about a month ago.I really miss it and am going to buy another one soon.I can tell you the LRD pipe for the Z gives you a 9 HP increase and is mainly a mid to top gain.The silencer was really loud(104DB)but that may have changed now.I talked to AJ at LRD who dynoed the pipe(his dad has a Z)It is really alot better than the DG.I think a Pro Circuit pipe for an 84 YZ may fit the TRI-Z also.If your interested in the LRD pipe let me know, I can hook you with a little secret that will save you a little $$$.Any Articles or Z info you have would be great to see when you get your scanner working.

If looking to buy one make sure you get the 86 Tri-z 250. Ten times better than the 85 i had the 85 and my bro had the 86 his was much better!But i still loved mine!! Skydog

 

I have an 85 and I have a blast with it every time. I have never ride
(or even seen) an 86 so I can,t comment on that. It is still fast as hell.
About 2 weeks ago I was running with piped banchees in the pavement from
stand to top end and I was right with them all the time from 0 to top speed.
Today I receive the Boyesen Pro Reeds (I am running stock reeds now), new chain
& srockets (2 teeth smaller in the rear now) and hopefully soon and LRD exhaust.
I hope that with that I will kill most quads from my area.

My bro has a tri z and his dg pipe adds a lot of top end to it..... pulls wheely's as soon as you hit the band like a yz250. He also has a stock tri-z as well. Both 85's one is yellow and black the other is black and red to look like an 86.

Since you said the lrd pipe adds 9hp to the z and i see that you have a lt250r I was just wondering if a pipe and silencer on the lt makes as much of a difference as it does on the z. I have an fmf fatty and sil. right now on my lt but have never ridden a stock one so i have nothing to compare it too.
