how many of you REALLY get to top your machines out on such a regular basis, that all you care about is if it is faster than this one, quicker then joes, better than tom's. STOP IT!!!!! you've wasted countless riding hours worrying bout who is faster. just ride, if you must go faster, bolt a small block 350 in that frame!! then you will be fast and probably ded!!!!
man, i built my banshee from the day of new, 87', just kept buying , buying, all these clowns in the mags are doing, is lining there pockets!!! just go, get a bike, and ride, enjoy the scenery for a change, fast is nice, but just how often do you get to open it up for that long to be stressing yourself about it?
o well, i said it, enjoy

A 350 small block would be something to see you have to admite. But your right. I have read well more than enough about top speed also.

Yes my brothers, enough snot nose 14 year olds worryin about "how fast does a banshee go with 55" super swampers?" and , "my bud tony's banshee does 175mph, we got clocked by a cop!!!!!" my only point of this bbs is to say "hey, enjoy the scenery, when you get older, those bumps and bruise do catch up to ya, " and don't get me wrong, i enjoy the heck out of urinating all over some 250r or "worked" 400ex, damn bikes are fast, wheather its a blaster or banshee, a trx70 or trx250r, man it's just fun, want competition, RACE!!!!!
PEACE!

hmmmmmmmm, i figure MadDogg in Cal. has been strappin sic 4 cyl. motors under quads and trikes for a few years now, how far off is a small block?
and my suggestion seems so be generating some interest.
maybe a team effort?
PEACE!

Right or wrong, fair or foul, the lust for speed exists, deep in the hearts of men (whether they admit it or not).

Everyone knows "speed kills," and reckless behavior, going too fast for conditions, cannot be condoned on any thing from a skateboard to a Maserati.

Yet, look at Madison Avenue (referring to advertising agencies producing television and print commercials)! Their message on the tube: EVERY MAN (woman, even) A RACE DRIVER! Yes! Speed down the road, any road! Buy this car and leave all those clods far behind!

They even show suburban commuters, spicing up their lives of quiet desperation by maneuvering their 8,000 # SUV on a wet slick cliffside mountain road around falling boulders (or heavy equipment dropped from a moving 18-wheel flatbed ahead), like a sports car on a slalom course. All this while the kids and the baby and the dog remain serene in the vinyl-upholstered, many-cupholdered, Dolby Surround-Sounded, cabin.

What's next? Joe Suburbia out-jumps the Dukes of Hazard? Wait, that one's showing already!

My point: indulging this speed fantasy sells cars! If not, the manufacturers wouldn't pay a million dollars for a 30-second spot you'll see on Super Bowl Sunday. Pandering to speed wouldn't work, unless mankind harbored the desire for speed, either secretly or in the clear.

Not I! When re-engining the Wildcat, I put in the overbored 455 instead of the 430, because the 455 has a more efficient cam lubrication system. New exhaust? Yeah, the dual pipes and glass-packs reduce backpressure, increasing gas mileage. And the Lunati cam? Don't know why they call it "Hemi-Killer," but Roost--when you get that 'Cuda back together, let's find out (on a safe and sanctioned dragway, of course)!

Sorry RAYMAN, err Fijit, I am in the pursuit of speed. I do want to enjoy the scenery, but at a faster pace than some. Heck fast enuff and Ill see it twice to your once! I guess thats why you'd build a small block as opposed to a BIG block. Yes speed does matter or you would have bought a LT 230 Quad Runner instead of the then NEW '87 Banshee. Maybe you have grown bored with speed and acceleration(or maybe not) but there are plenty of us who have not.
