I just traded an old dirt bike for an 89 warrior.
What are the best mods that I can do to it. Would anyone do a big bore kit.

i put a supertrapp pipe, jetted it, and put a kn filter in mine, and it made a world of differance. cost was only 500.00 andit made it a totally differant quad. i had to put on some new tires to get a good grip with the power i gained.

Put a silencer on it and go up 1 tooth on the front sprocket.
That'll make a difference.

The best mods, assuming you still have good compression, doesn't burn oil, etc would be a White Bros. E-Series ProMeg pipe, a ProDesign/K&N air filter (or foam filter depending on your riding conditions), a Dynojet kit to adjust for the new air filter/exhaust setup, and a new +1 front sprocket to take advantage of the increased power. The approximate cost for this package would be around $400. Check out the April 2001 issue of "4 Wheel ATV Action" for a Warrior Guide to some of the different hop-ups available. One of the better Warrior hop up shops is www.fourstroketech.com He used to race Warriors a while back and offers 435cc ($575) and 490cc ($1075) kits. Four Stroke Tech also offers a rather slick oil cooler kit for the Warrior also.

Welcome to the first generation warrior club! ON my 87, witch was totally rebuilt, i put a White Bros PM pipe on it, uni air filter, mucho motor work (no big bore though), and some other stuff. I know i have not been able to get my warrior to quit burning oil at start up. I have checked everything in the jug 2 times and everything in the head once, exept the valve guid witch the dealer was told to replace but the drunk did not. Your warrior will be heavy in the front end. I would recomen a set of bandit tires. I have to say they are the best tire i have used.
